Knauf is looking for professional and experienced colleague for their global procurement team as Category Manager Energy.

Your main tasks will be:

• Proactive involvement in sourcing and risk management of energy within the team of Global Category Management Energy, which is a part of Global Procurement
• Continuously develop Knauf’s Global Category Strategy for Energy in close coordination with the GCM Energy and the regional/local purchasing managers
• Execute and regularly track the approved hedging strategy mainly for power and natural gas, providing relevant portfolio reports to internal stakeholders
• Identify risks and opportunities for each of the countries in scope based on country specifics and enable action plans
• Negotiate the local supply agreements in close cooperation with the relevant sites/countries and share responsibility with the regions
• Support the building of energy budgets and update forecasts according to internal processes
• Monitoring regional and local trends and market developments
• Improve existing global data quality and transparency as well as the forecasting of energy costs on site level
• Proactively support identification, definition and implementation of energy savings projects in the countries in scope working with relevant stakeholders

Skills, experience, and qualifications:

• Degree in the field of energy management, energy procurement, business administration or comparable qualification
• At least 5 years of experience in strategic purchasing ideally in an international environment and related to energy procurement
• Experience in working in a matrix organization
• Deep knowledge in sourcing and procurement methodologies and concepts, ideally for energy procurement
• Strong negotiation skills and knowledge of the relevant energy markets and suppliers
• Competence in strategy – Winning and convincing attitude
• Very good skill set of analytic thinking, communication, interpersonal and intercultural collaboration
• Authentic, target driven, self-managed team player and networker
• Proficiency in MS Office, preferably SAP and BI
• Fluent in English (spoken and written), German and additional languages are a plus
