What is the purpose and content of this role?
Your career at Boku will start as a Senior Software Engineer. In this role, you’ll will have the opportunity and the authority to make design decisions on modern autodeployable Java17 microservices in AWS serving millions of end users each day.
Your main goal is to bring the ideas of stakeholders into life - deliver new markets, products, compliance, and technical features to your clients having direct impact on their revenue and market positioning. You will be a true role model with a strong grasp on good coding practices and techniques (CI/CD/TDD etc.) and by coaching junior team members, exchanging knowledge and driving initiatives together with tech leads and engineers from the whole organization. There is a definitive feel of satisfaction that comes from influencing and helping to deliver valuable services on a big scale.
Skills and requirements, we expect from you to
- Fantastic Java user having a strong grasp of good coding practices and techniques, while not being afraid of leaving the massive frameworks aside every now and then to write a lean and dependence-freeish code by yourself.
- Owner of all aspects of our software architecture, quality, and user experience as you will write and review a lot of code and maintain services in production using a modern toolset.
- Teaching, coaching and mentoring our junior team members and other engineers to improve the performance of the solution (e.g., algorithm redesign, etc.).
- Understanding of testing, continuous integration, and deployment practices.
- Mastery of working with databases (PostgresRDS) and why not also Aurora, DynamoDB or other cloud-first options out there.
