What is the purpose and content of this role?
In Software Engineer role at Boku you’ll will be solving software and business puzzles, figuring out how different systems and information assets interlock with each other, removing silos, and finding the best solutions. You will be responsible for all the stages of software development life cycle (from technical preparations to testing your own code and monitoring the outcome if needed).
Your main goal is to bring the ideas of stakeholders into life - deliver new markets, products, compliance, and technical features to your clients having direct impact on their revenue and market positioning. You will have good opportunities of changing knowledge and driving initiatives together with tech leads and engineers from the whole organization. There is a definitive feel of satisfaction that comes from influencing and helping to deliver valuable services on a big scale.
Skills and requirements, we expect from you to
- Fluent Java user having a strong grasp of good coding practices and techniques, while not being afraid of leaving the massive frameworks aside every now and then to write a lean and relatively dependence-free code by yourself
- Experience in making architectural decisions, keeping maintainability and scalability in mind as well as user experience. You will write and review a lot of code and maintain services in production using a modern toolset and tech stack (autodeployable Java17 microservices in AWS serving millions of end users each day)
- Solid understanding of writing backend business logic
- Familiarity with concepts of cloud services
- Skill of testing your own code at a unit level
- Understanding of testing, continuous integration, and deployment practices.
- Experience of working with databases and data storage solutions like PostgresRDS, but why also not Aurora, DynamoDB, S3 or some other cloud-first option out there.
