The offer

As a Screening Effectiveness Analyst in Sanctions Solutions, Group Financial Crime Prevention your role involves supporting the assessment of the performance of Nordea’s sanctions screening controls, suggesting improvements in configuration to uplift screening results and securing our screening service remains explainably effective and efficient. You will support our Effectiveness Testing capability and grow into a Knowledge Expert of Nordea’s Sanctions Screening configuration, the required outcomes in Sanctions Screening and the settings we can use to change outcomes. Through analysis you will help to ensure the sanctions screening risk management controls are operating optimally, your role contributes to keeping Nordea, its customers and society safer.

You will be part of the Manage Parameters capability in the Manage Parameters & Analytics team, we are outcome focused and aim to secure the best possible screening outcomes. We are passionate, professional and focused on doing the right thing. You will be part of a capability build in this area working alongside team members located in Denmark, Estonia, Finland and Sweden.
What you’ll be doing:

Support Effectiveness Testing in achieving repeatable, documented and explainable testing, including running test files to generate outputs for analysis, creating audit trail which demonstrates the process has been followed from input, through test and analysis
Reviewing results of what does and does not generate a match in screening and forming qualitative judgements on whether a match should be expected
Performing root cause analysis of findings
Implementing configuration settings to uplift screening results
Secure transparency of results into risk owning stakeholders by presenting complex information in a clear and understandable manner
Providing expertise about screening outcomes, this may include participating in projects or helping to assure the outcome of change initiatives prior to implementation
Interacting closely with colleagues and stakeholders within the broader Group Financial Crime Prevention function, Business Areas, Group Financial Crime Compliance and with other delivery partners in support of Nordea’s overall Sanctions Screening Strategy
You will report to the Leading Others for the Manage Parameters and Analytics team within Sanctions Solutions

Your background will include:

Strong analytical skills and structured problem solving
Experience planning and executing complex tasks independently and as part of a team
A track record of working in a complex and international environment
Strong English language communication skills (oral and written)
Developing your own capability
A Bachelor’s Degree or significant equivalent experience

Your background including the following would be advantageous:

Experience in a regulated environment with a need for high explainability
Experience working with qualitative and/or quantitative testing outcomes
Experience in planning activities, executing them and presenting them to senior stakeholders
Experience in forming processes with complex hand offs, analyzing risks and control points
International Compliance Association (ICA) Certification (sanctions focused) or Association of Certified Sanctions Specialists (ACSS) Certification or a relevant Master’s Degree
