We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Infrastructure Engineer to join the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence (CCDCOE). The successful candidate will play a key role in planning, developing, and maintaining advanced cyber exercise and laboratory environments that support NATOs mission in cyber defence research, training, and capability development.

This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to international cyber defence initiatives, work with cutting-edge technologies, and collaborate with experts from NATO and Allied Nations. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with initiative, precision, and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary and multinational environment.

Responsibilities

Planning and setting up cyber exercises and laboratory environments
Monitoring and developing the laboratory infrastructure of the NATO CCDCOE
Planning, managing, and supporting NATO CCDCOE projects as a Subject Matter Expert and/or Project Lead
Providing technical expertise to assist and advise NATO and Allied Nations in the area of technical infrastructure for cyber defence research activities
Providing expertise on technical infrastructure for the development and delivery of training courses and awareness-raising activities
Evaluating various products and solutions for laboratory and exercise environments
Participating in workshops, seminars, and conferences in the respective field of expertise

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
A degree in Cyber Security is an advantage
Minimum of 3 years of experience in network infrastructure engineering; practical experience in cyber security is an advantage
Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows operating system administration
In-depth understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs, and routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF)
Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, or similar network hardware
Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (e.g., VMware, AWS, Azure)
Relevant certifications are a plus (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+)
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
Experience in developing network architecture and good scripting skills is an advantage
