What are we looking for?
We're looking for a kick-ass experienced Project Manager to join us and take the lead and full ownership of our first 1,67 mln € commercial project.
- You will be part of bringing real innovation (not just another business SaaS) to the market
- You will be leading the project team of 10 - the best minds in the areas of radiation, particle physics, electronics, Non-Destructive scanning, and R&D hardware manufacturing.
- In addition, you will contribute to our ways of working ie create our best practices and the GScan way of running projects
- After having exceptional success in this role you will have the opportunity to build up our international PMO function in GScan
Your main role
This is what we expect from You (overall, the PM does not need to do everything by him/herself, there are other great colleagues to help you 🙂).
- Take full responsibility for the Alara project success (ie hitting the revenue, cost, deadlines, customer satisfaction, and team engagement targets)
- "Productize" the project as much as possible for re-use - creating templates and understanding of project methodology and costs) that can be used in selling and delivering other GScan projects
- Planning. Based on the proposal, cocreate a detailed project plan with clear deliverables (both on Work Packages and Task level, with time estimates ) and resource plan in ClickUp
- Together with Finance create a budget and profitability view for the project
- Understand and create the cost & profitability overview for the project
- Create necessary routines (eg time tracking of tasks in ClickUp, etc)
- Track progress
- Create internal ways of working, incl Project Charter
- Milestones, internal regular meetings, joint planning
- Create and maintain a project dashboard
- Internal reporting (eg weekly written short report to Board, monthly f2f internal) steering
- Manage the customer relationship: Establish working and communication routines with the customer. Making sure the deliverables and the project plan are understood by the customer
- Stakeholder management
- Scope management
- Contribute to PM methodology and best practices in GScan
- Learn from each other and keep good sync with our other great PMs (Tarvo Metspalu, Marko Aid)

You will not be alone. As the project is truly important to us, you will get full support from others, including
- Clear topic owners by area (hardware, manufacturing, software & ML/AI, field work)
- Strong support from others:
- Madis Kiisk (R&D Lead and Project Director), Märt Mägi (CTO and co-founder) Marek Helm (CEO) and Andi Hektor (Chair of Board) will be helping C-level customer relationship
- HR will help to organize team events
- Ulvi Vaher will partner you with project finances and profitability

OUR DIRTY DOZEN: MINIMUM AND BENEFICIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum: Medium-experienced PM. Has been running medium complexity commercial projects (min 0,5mln projects, 10 FTE, min 12m) with full responsibility for deadlines, cost, and revenue
- Independent and high proactiveness. Chases others (does not need chasing). Requires little supervision and a small amount of direction
- Understands customer needs. Not just an administrative PM, but understand what customer is buying and what problems they are solving.
- Understanding different stakeholders. Pushes project to success ie delivering, no matter what. Creative and solution-oriented. Goes the extra mile. Resilient.
- Sets ambitious goals. Does not give up. We're doing our first 1,5mln projects, there are tons of surprises and challenges ahead.
- Business savvy. *Cares for profit *Understands that 1€ cost can deliver very different value to the customer *Understands the financial consequences of decisions
- Understands technology. *Background in engineering *Experience in hardware development, ideally in an R&D setting is a benefit
- Fluent in PM routines. *Able to set up routines. Planning, tracking, managing meetings, etc. *Good in XLS (and project finances)
- Good communicator. Both Verbal and writing. English on a good level. Seen as a trusted partner by customer
- Team motivator. Brings people together and keeps the team engaged
- Flexibility & mobility. *Regarding site visits, working hours, etc *Future interest and readiness to run international projects.
- Legal literacy. Understands contractual obligations

GScan is a global pioneer in developing scanners that are applying only natural atmospheric radiation (called muon tomography). The technology is 100% safe with no artificial ionizing radiation and the scanner reaches record high (99+%) efficiency in the classification of materials. This will change how scanning of anything happens. By anything we mean scanning at border controls for illegal drugs, weapons, and human trafficking, airport security scanners, scanning of buildings and other infrastructure, and in the longer term, also scanning for medical purposes.
We've just won our first 1,67 mln € commercial project with the goal of scanning and creating the 3D images of the 2 soviet submarine reactors in Estonia.
