Political Officer (Security and Values)

As part of our friendly and ambitious team you would be able to promote cooperation between the UK and Estonia in areas including - tech and digital; energy, climate and environment; science and education. The job holder will also provide reporting and analysis on Estonia’s economy and will lead on some incoming high-level visits to Estonia and other events promoting the UK-Estonia bilateral relationship.

This is a full time permanent position.

Essential qualifications, skills and experience

Either a degree in economics, international politics or a related subject, or broad experience and knowledge of economic and prosperity issues in the UK and/or the Baltic region;
An excellent level of written and spoken English (C1) and Estonian (C1);
Proven relevant work experience in the private and/or public sector;;
Strong interpersonal, communication and networking skills;
The ability to respond flexibly and creatively to changing priorities.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Developing cooperation on UK prosperity priority areas including tech & digital; energy, 5G, climate & environment; healthcare, science and education. Identifying project funding and other opportunities
Responsible for progressing and developing the newly-signed UK-Estonia Tech Partnership Agreement.
Economics lead within the Political team, monitoring and reporting on Estonian economic issues.
Working as part of the embassy team to support high level visits in either direction.
