Senior Accountant

To Succeed in the Role, You Should Have:

• Demonstrate strong technical accounting skills and understanding of accounting principles including IFRS, Finish TAX & VAT compliance.
• Ability to work in a dynamic business environment, previous experience in the travel industry is desirable but not essential.
• Proficient in all Microsoft programs.
• Timely decision-making skills with high level of independence, self-initiative and drive and a high level of self-motivation.
• Strong influencing skills, able to sway and manage stakeholders across a complex and ever-changing growth business.
• Strong project management skills with an analytical and well-structured working style with a strong understanding of figures and financials.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Finance and Accounting. Work experience in a dynamic, international matrix environment preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, good knowledge of Finnish language.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure maintenance of accurate and timely local finance ledgers. Ensure the period close, and reporting is timely and accurate (AX and HFM), in full compliance with Group and IFRS policies and legal requirements.
• Ensure support on the preparation of robust annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
• Ensure that policies, procedures, and systems defined by the global finance functions are fully implemented.
• Ensure to file the necessary VAT returns and tax returns timely and accurate.
• Business partner for department heads. Act as the primary contact for finance/tax/legal topics to the local business and function heads and support where necessary.
• Responsible for group and statutory audit process in Finland. Overall ownership of Finland cashflow and currency management in the region.
• Raise potential financial, business, legal or other risks and opportunities proactively to global finance functions and regional/local business & function heads.
