Xfly is one of the biggest capacity providers in Europe, focused on long-term ACMI contracts with Major European airlines. Xfly is operating a fast-growing fleet of modern CRJ700-900, ATR72-600 aircraft and is in the process of introducing Embraer 190-195s for long-term ACMI operations.


To support its rapid expansion, Xfly is looking for a Deputy Manager, Training for it's Flight Operations function. The ideal candidate will be a pilot with the potential to work 75% Office and 25% Line Flying. This role reports to the Manager, Training.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Carry out line flying and simulator duties as required by the commercial program
  • Help ensure that training syllabuses are in accordance with ECAA, EASA regulations
  • When required, liaise with regulatory authorities, original equipment manufacturers and other operationally relevant external entities
  • Help draft operational and emergency training syllabi for flight operations personnel, Flight and Cabin Crew in cooperation with respective personnel
  • Help plan and organise all ground and flight training
  • Ensure that all necessary facilities and equipment are available for planned training and that they are functioning
  • Liaise with Training providers to ensure simulator and other equipment meets the Xfly standard
  • Help arrange and plan examinations with appropriate Authorities
  • When required, supervise all initial ground and flight training for Xfly Crew Members as well as all recurrent training for Xfly Crew Members
  • Provide input to keeping the Xfly Training Manual up-to-date
  • Keep all training files up-to-date and available to the appropriate Authorities
  • Inform the Crew Resource department when extra training is required
  • When required, keep OA informed of the progress and performance of all Xfly Crew Members
  • Together with OA & OT, help select Ground and Flight Instructors
  • Together with OA or CA help evaluate and recruit new operational personnel
  • Update and keep follow-up of Flight and Cabin Crew training records (must show date and contents of training received), Medical Certificates and files, including records of expiration dates and store relevant Documents for retaining in a secure place, controlled by OPS Control Management according to OM-A Chapter 0.1.4 and 0.1.5
  • Perform Safety Risk Evaluations and the Management of Change processes within their area of responsibility
  • Ensure that Flight Crew are trained and qualified according to the established procedures, syllabuses and standards. When a pilot is transferred from one type of aircraft and/or route to another, OT shall decide and order the training required in addition to minimum requirements listed in the company procedures

Qualifications:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of: EU regulations related to operations and procedures, Xfly Operations Specifications
  • Familiarity with Management Systems and Safety Management System
  • Appropriate management experience in a comparable organization
  • The nominated person should be a current type rating instructor on a type/class operated under the AOC. The person should have a thorough knowledge of the AOC holder’s crew training concept for flight, cabin and when relevant other crew.
