Position offered:

ADVANCED MANUFACTURING ENGINEER

Tasks:

• Develops, manages and implements Final Assembly and PCBA preparation processes for manufacturing site locations – includes gap analysis to BOP documents to improve safety, quality, and cost.
o Ensures world class manufacturing system to support customers’ specifications and required capacity and quality (pFMEA- based Bill of Process, MSD)
o Establishes efficient, cost-effective processes for ease of manufacture and reproducibility (global)
o Establish a Culture of Leaders as Teachers & Trainers - Educates and trains team members as to their impact in supporting Upper Quartile SRI Performance.

• Provide direction on costing, manufacturability changes, equipment selection, capacity analysis & quality, contingency planning.
• Develop and maintain quality look across for Final Assembly and PCBA preparation processes with Bill of Process feedback to pFMEA on a regular basis.
• Provide support on engineering prototype builds, pilot production and production.
• Develops a standard BOP (bill of process), highlighting core processes and driving internal make versus buy.
• Partners with top global Final Assembly and PCBA preparation process equipment suppliers and internal procurement, design and implement benchmark Lean Six Sigma processes.
• Support product and machine transitions between Stoneridge locations globally.
• Support continuous improvement manufacturing engineering activities to achieve and exceed quality targets.
• Executing the Final Assembly and PCBA preparation sustainability audit per manufacturing site (process setup, maintenance routines)
• Benchmark and support new manufacturing processes required to support new technologies.
• Designs, implements and documents standard work for benchmark process, process improvement, testing and inspection.

The ideal candidate we are looking for has:
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business discipline
• 5+ years’ manufacturing or manufacturing engineering experience in the automotive space, ideally at the Tier 1 level with complex processes. Rotations through lean, quality, operations, product development.
• Hands-on experience in the areas of implementing lean processes/tools in comparable processes and demonstrated accomplishments in project management and process improvement initiatives.
• Demonstrated track record of success with developing manufacturing process engineering strategy and deploying lean systems while improving the execution of operation, overall business processes, products to our internal and external customers.
• Prior experience with small parts manufacturing – small cells, high speed, high volume, high mix. Proven track record of using most manual method and automation with a human touch, driving best value manufacturing processes.
• Expert level knowledge of manufacturing equipment specification, procurement, validation plan creation and execution.
• Has organizational and project management skills.
