What do you need to succeed in the role?
You are familiar with the ITIL IT Service management framework and Configuration and Asset management practices or have experience working in an IT organization as a service provider where service modeling practices were in place. Database management and maintenance for you is more “fun” than a good action movie. You also have:
- Several years experience as a manager of IT service or DB administrator which sees ITSM as a tool to achieve provided service availability, but not a paper to read before night’s sleep
- Understanding of Configuration and Asset management practices
- Experience working with CMDB tools. Good knowledge of Atlassian Confluence and Jira will be considered as a bonus
- Ability to handle various cultures, willingness to work internationally
- Strong service attitude - you build lasting customer relationships and strive for efficiency and effectiveness
- Commitment to quality standards and continuous improvement
- Desire and ability to quickly learn and apply new concepts
- Certification in ITIL, DevOps, or Agile will be a huge bonus
As a person, you are good at planning and have exceptional self and time management skills. You have strong analytical skills and love a structured and systematic approach. You are excellent in communication and fluent in English.
What will be the challenge in this role:
In the role of the CMDB engineer, you will be a part of the international Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) division, contributing to provisioning payments, invoicing, and risk management services to customers across Europe. You will:
- manage Configuration management database to ensure that all the components needed are captured and managed and are up to date
- contribute in defining and implementing CMDB architecture and Configuration Items management models
- translate CMDB consumers user stories into usable CMDB data
- define requirements and solution specifications for selected ITSM tools to manage and access CMDB data
- ensure a common way of working with CMDB is aligned among different teams
- create CMDB maintenance and data governance documentation
- ensure CMDB data adherence to defined standards and policies, and monitor its health status
- execute a systematic approach to continuous improvement of CMDB data model, including the critical review of CMDB consumer requirements, to increase the overall quality and efficiency of the model
