As Data Steward specializing in metadata management, you will be a key-person and a point of contact for metadata related inquiries at Luminor. The main part of your job will be related to Data Lineage. Data Lineage enables the capturing, management and visualization of the origins, movement, characteristics and transformations of data as it moves through the organization across various systems, processes and people. The role requires a high degree of analytical skills and technical know-how as well as in-depth knowledge about metadata in its various formats. Responsibilities:

  • To develop, collect and maintain metadata documentation in Luminor
  • To collect, document, maintain and run centralized data lineage service
  • To perform metadata scanning activities
  • To be the main contact regarding metadata documentation in Luminor, including providing training to the end users of metadata documentation usage
  • To support domain data stewards and business users in data quality issue investigation, business analysis for new BI services and similar activities where metadata and data lineage plays an important role
  • To participate in metadata process improvement activities, including metadata management tool evaluation, testing and implementation
  • To collaborate with IT Architecture function data modelers


Skills and experience:

  • Excellent SQL knowledge, ability to “translate” it into functional description of the transformation logic for the business users
  • Proven work experience related to data warehousing, understanding of data and the complexity of data engineering
  • Structural and organized way of thinking – analyse data, spot the issues and identify solutions
  • Ability to be a “bridge” between IT and business
  • Detail-oriented person while having excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Initiative and high-level of responsibility
  • Fluent English both written and oral

Data Stewardship team works on pan-Baltic level and is important stakeholder of data management initiatives at Luminor. We strive to improve, standardize and align data across all three Baltic states. Traveling in the Baltics is expected.
