As the Product Manager you’re responsible for product success and measure yourself in terms of the success of the product. You are responsible for the right product at the right time and all that it entails. This includes managing the product throughout the Product Lifecycle, understanding your key stakeholders, and working closely with engineering, to deliver winning products. It also includes constantly trying out new ideas in order to innovate and seeking to apply new technology to solve real problems but doing so in ways that protect the revenue. You know the difference of solving business problems and delivering features. You know the difference of outcome and output.
Responsibilities
- Think in terms of delivering superior value to the Customer and focus the development team on revenue and customers.
- Gather and validate all assumptions (using prototypes or research) about the product before final development. Analyze product data and measure customer behaviour.
- Engage directly and constantly with end-users and customers to understand their problems and constraints.
- Crisply define the target, the “what” (as opposed to the “how”) and manage the delivery of the “what.” Know the business context and decompose problems. Take ownership for the Product Backlog.
- Act as a product leader within the company. Conduct product demos, briefings and training sessions to stakeholders.
Skills and Qualifications
- Demonstrated success defining and launching excellent products
- 3+ years of experience in a job in the IT sector (preferably SaaS)
- Experience with B2B business model
- Technical background (preferably business analysis or product management)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent teamwork skills
