Right now we are building a new team who will directly influence the development of key applications and analytics of Baltic energy trading. Your work will have a direct impact on our commercial results and on the transition to a more efficient and sustainable power system.
We are looking for a ENERGY TRADING APPLICATION DEVELOPER to help establish an electricity trading team focusing on development on trading tools & algorithms, market analysis, and price forecasting across the Baltic power markets. This role is central to developing advanced algorithms, analytical tools, and forecasting models that drive trading decisions and portfolio optimization in fast-moving intraday and day-ahead markets. Your key responsibility areas include:
- Designing, building, and improving trading tools and automated solutions.
- Developing and refining electricity price forecasting models for DA and intraday markets, and integrating these into decision support tools.
- Supporting the ongoing automation and enhancement of trading communications and control room processes.
- Working on algorithm development for flexible asset trading and portfolio optimization.
- Improving KPI reporting tools, facilitating better operational oversight.
- Collaborating with other team members to identify business needs, and translating them into technical solutions.
- Providing backup support for trading desk colleagues during absences, and making iterative improvements to trading algorithms.
Desired experiences and skills:
- Background in software development, data engineering, or quantitative analysis, ideally from energy, commodities, or another fast-paced technical sector.
- Good programming skills (such as Python, R, or equivalent), with practical experience developing applications, data models, or algorithmic solutions.
- Understanding of time-series analysis, forecasting, and basic statistical techniques.
- Familiarity with cloud-based platforms (e.g., Microsoft Azure), APIs, and workflow automation is helpful.
- Experience with reporting tools—such as PowerBI or advanced Excel—will be beneficial.
- Interest in energy markets, electricity trading, or physical asset optimization considered a plus.
- Excellent communication skills in English; additional languages are beneficial
