Tallinn University is the third-largest public university and the largest teacher training institution in Estonia, with approximately 7,000 students and 400 academic staff members. It consists of six institutes and one college, where study and research are conducted across five interdisciplinary focus areas: educational innovation, digital and media culture, cultural competencies, healthy and sustainable lifestyles, and open governance. The University is committed to the strategic goal of becoming an internationally recognised research university with a strong social conscience, fostering an open-minded, flexible, and collegial environment for both academic and personal growth.

The University boasts a modern campus located in the heart of Tallinn, near the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Old Town, offering excellent access to both seaports and the airport.

The School of Natural Sciences and Health, along with its Institute of Ecology, is an academic unit that conducts education, research, development, and innovation in three fields: natural sciences and education for sustainable development (including organisms, landscapes, ecosystems, and geospheres); psychology and behavioral sciences; and movement, health, and sports sciences.
