We are now looking for a Logistics Specialist to join our Packaging Materials divisions Break Bulk and Liner Operations team. This role is based in Tallinn and reports to Head of Liner & BB Operations.
As a Logistics Specialist,
You effectively plan the cargo flows with least possible cost across the divisions, cooperate with Procurement suggest alternative options in case the main route is not available and optimize loads to achieve best cost per shipment.
In this role, your main responsibilities include:
Planning
- Effective & timely coordination of yearly, quarterly, and monthly plans with BA and BU and sales offices.
- Effective & timely coordination of yearly, quarterly, and monthly plans to nominated suppliers within agreed time frame.
- Effectively manage spot (alert procurement, check systems readiness, inform necessary people).
- Proposals in long- and short-term capacity chartering.
Follow-up plan fulfilment
- Volume optimization/combining to achieve best cost per shipment.
- Changes in vessel schedules.
- Volumes planned in systems within good time, systems correctly updated.
- Search for alternative options (together with Procurement) in case procured carrier is unable to perform.
- Volumes according to plan delivered in time with optimal costs to customers.
- Alert Head of Liner & BB Operations in case of deviations in contract fulfilling (supplier or BU), transit time, cargo readiness & other complications.
- Check and approve invoices and laytime calculations timely within your area of responsibility.
- Report near-misses or accidents to Head of Liner & BB Operations with short notice.
Analyzation
- Proposals for changes into existing COAs.
- Follow up stakeholder`s behaviour (what is necessary to improve, what works well).
- Follow up cost & demurrage.
About you
- You understand of supplier market and key drivers of same.
- You are proactive, result oriented, willing to take initiative and responsibility, firmly ensuring nothing is falling between chairs of logistics/divisions/procurement/operations.
- You have strong skills in supplier relationship and negotiations.
- You have ability to stay focused in stressful situations and able to grasp new things fast.
- You have excellent communication skills. Fluent written and spoken English.
Additional skills that will help you succeed in this role:
- Collage/University degree in relevant area (engineering/technical, economics/finance or other relevant).
- At least 5 years working experience within the break bulk/shipping industry with operational focus. Previous experience in logistics will be beneficial.
- Process and applications skills: MS Office, Outlook, OTM (Fenix, WPS, GT Nexus depending on substitution need).
