Purpose of the role:

We are seeking a charismatic and organized Restaurant Hostess to join our team at our esteemed high-end restaurant Écrin. As the first point of contact for our guests, you will play a crucial role in creating a welcoming and memorable dining experience. Your exceptional customer service skills, positive attitude, and organizational overview will contribute to the smooth operation of our establishment and the satisfaction of our clientele.

Estimated start date: December / January

Your responsibilities will be:
  • Warmly greeting guests upon arrival, exuding hospitality and professionalism, and providing assistance as needed.
  • Managing guest reservations and seating arrangements efficiently, utilizing reservation systems and floor plans to optimize table turnover and guest flow.
  • Maintaining a neat and tidy reception area, including ensuring cleanliness and organization of hostess stands, waiting areas, and coat check stations.
  • Answering telephone calls promptly and courteously, providing accurate information regarding reservations, menu offerings, and restaurant policies.
  • Effectively communicating with guests regarding wait times, special requests, and seating preferences, demonstrating empathy and attentiveness to their needs.
  • Collaborating closely with servers, bartenders, and management to coordinate seating assignments and maintaining accurate records of table availability.
  • Monitoring dining room occupancy and anticipating upcoming reservations, proactively adjusting seating arrangements to accommodate varying party sizes and preferences.
  • Assisting with guest inquiries and resolving any concerns or complaints promptly and professionally, escalating issues to management when necessary.
  • Upholding the restaurant's standards of excellence by adhering to grooming guidelines, dress code requirements, and service protocols.
  • Staying informed about menu offerings, daily specials, and promotional events, actively promoting these to guests and encouraging participation.
  • Performing administrative tasks as assigned, including updating reservation logs, organizing guest information, and assisting with special events or projects.
What we expect from you:
  • Previous experience in a hospitality or customer service role, preferably as a hostess in a high-end restaurant environment.
  • Exceptional customer service skills, with a friendly and welcoming demeanor that puts guests at ease.
  • Positive attitude and ability to maintain composure in fast-paced and demanding situations.
  • Strong telephone etiquette and communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Outstanding people skills, with the ability to interact confidently and courteously with guests from diverse backgrounds.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the demands of the restaurant industry.
  • Proficiency in reservation management systems and basic computer skills.
  • Medical Certificate for food operators required.
  • Minimum age requirement 21 years.
