The Job in a Nutshell
We are seeking a dedicated Director of Accounting to join our team and lead initiatives that ensure complete and accurate revenue recognition under US GAAP and IFRS standards, enhance the efficiency of our monthly close process, and empower our talented team to excel. Key responsibilities include oversight of operational accounting, management of the general ledger and processing teams, implementation of robust internal controls, and optimization of ERP systems within our B2C segment. This role also encompasses treasury management and systems implementation to support ongoing growth. Reporting to the Director of Shared Services, this highly visible position offers the opportunity to collaborate with finance, operations, board members, and key stakeholders in a dynamic, high-growth environment.

A Sneak Peek into Your Role
  • Taking responsibility for US GAAP and IFRS revenue recognition under ASC 606, Revenue from Contracts with Customers, including understanding and building an inventory of IFRS or local GAAP differences with US GAAP standards.
  • Ensuring financial reporting compliance for all B2C entities.
  • Directing and supervising Accounting staff to maintain adherence to procedures, strong internal controls, and company policies, while ensuring integrity in all financial transactions and reporting.
  • Sharing ownership of the full-cycle general ledger financial close process and related activities to ensure complete and accurate financials in accordance with U.S. GAAP, including managing and reviewing close activities, such as journal entries and account reconciliations, within the established timeline.
  • Coordinating, preparing, and publishing timely monthly revenue reports, including month-over-month fluctuation analysis, working with FP&A on budget vs. actual analyses, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve managerial reporting.
  • Leading annual audit activities associated with Accounting and working with external auditors for accurate and timely completion.
  • Developing accounting policies to cover procedures related to A/P, purchase orders, revenue recognition, and internal controls.
  • Assisting with disclosures for the companys financial statements, both for the B2C subsidiaries and supporting Group reporting for GAN Limited, the ultimate parent company.
  • Improving and automating processes to refine Accounting operations, while enhancing the quality of monthly, quarterly, and annual closes, as well as internal controls.

You're good at
  • You hold a Bachelor's Degree, and while a CPA is not required, it is strongly encouraged.
  • Bring at least 10 years of finance and accounting experience, ideally with some time spent in Big 4 audit.
  • Have prior experience in effectively managing and developing teams.
  • Demonstrate a proven ability to drive process improvement and optimization while staying up-to-date with the latest principles and practices in accounting, finance, and systems.
  • Effectively present and defend analyses to key stakeholders, using your strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Foster meaningful relationships and navigate negotiations effortlessly, using your high emotional intelligence (EQ) to connect with new individuals swiftly and nurture those relationships over time, supported by your strong communication skills.
  • Thrive in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments, and maintain a self-motivated, solution-oriented approach.
  • Stay organized and detail-oriented, with a knack for follow-through.
  • Fluency in verbal and written English is a must, as it's our primary means of communication.
