A client of WorkingDay Latvia - Balticovo AS is a major producer of fresh eggs and egg products in Northern Europe. It is a 100% Latvian-owned company, with a turnover of 101 million euros in 2022. 70% of the production is exported to more than 20 countries worldwide. Balticovo is a company with ambitious future goals, prioritizing development, quality, sustainability, and its employees while fostering a modern, innovative, and family-friendly work environment.
The main production facility and 5 branches are located in Latvia. In 2024 Balticovo acquired a poultry farming company in Estonia. The strategy in Estonia involves producing eggs from birds raised in free-range environments, with operations scheduled to commence this year.
We are looking for an Operations Manager in Estonia.
Attributes that make you a strong candidate:
- Fluency in English and Estonian (both written and spoken)
- Prior experience in operations, management, and leadership, preferably in a food production or agricultural company
- Higher education in business, management, or any related field
- Strong drive, ambition, and a purposeful approach to achieving operational excellence while maintaining a people-centred leadership style
- High level of integrity and ethical standards in decision-making and leadership
- A strategic mindset with a focus on sustainable thinking and a forward-looking perspective
Essential job responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of the production process, ensuring efficiency and quality standards are met
- Manage company processes in close cooperation with the management of the Latvian team - cooperation with construction companies, logistics department, Estonian food and veterinary services
- Get involved in attracting European Union structural funds
- Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize production and resource allocation according to the company vision
- Lead and manage team, fostering a positive and productive work environment
- Coordinate with various departments to ensure smooth workflow and goal alignment
- Monitor KPIs and performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions
- Ensure compliance with sustainability goals and local regulations
- Manage budgets and control operational costs effectively
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and profitability
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies
- Analyze performance metrics and prepare reports for senior management
