As an Engineering Manager
You will be responsible for building and leading a team that is tasked with modernising our Android hybrid application. You will be collaborating with multiple product teams and a wide range of stakeholders to deliver world-class user experience for thousands of users
All about you
- 3+ years of experience in software engineering
- 3+ years of experience with direct people management
- Experience building software engineering teams
- Strong knowledge and experience in software development life cycle and agile methodologies; Scrum certification is a plus but not required
- The ability to work effectively and respectfully with the people around; able to negotiate with others, and to recognize and appreciate diversity in the team
- The ability to hold strong opinions, and the confidence to speak up and tell your manager if they’re wrong
- Passion for mobile development and strong knowledge of the Android ecosystem
What will you do
- Play a leading role in recruiting, building, and growing the team
- Work closely with the Product Owner to build and manage the roadmap and continuously deliver new customer facing features and improvements
- Drive the short-term planning and execution of sprints including all standard sprint ceremonies
- Create clarity and align the team behind common goals
- Keep the team members motivated, ensure their professional growth and well-being
- Cooperate closely with other engineering teams and Operations
- Proactively report on team’s health, activities & plans, representing the team at wider audiences
