Requirements for the candidate
We are looking for an Accountant to join our team in Tartu. This is a position with a defined opportunity to grow into a CFO role.
The company operates in Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania, and the role requires strong digital skills, the ability to manage accounting across multiple entities, and close cooperation with management on financial planning and control.
- Very strong computer and IT skills are essential.
- Advanced Excel skills (e.g. complex formulas, data analysis, reporting, pivot tables).
- Strong knowledge of Estonian accounting and tax legislation.
- Ability to work in English and Estonian (written and spoken).
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of financial processes.
- Higher education (at least a Bachelor’s degree).
Previous experience in the forestry sector is considered an advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full responsibility for end-to-end accounting for the company and related entities.
- Manage accounting operations for multiple countries (EE, LV, LT) in compliance with local legislation.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Coordinate audits and work closely with external auditors and authorities.
- Maintain efficient internal controls, accounting procedures, and reporting systems.
- Support management with budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow planning, and financial analysis.
- Support the CEO in financial and administrative matters, including ad hoc tasks, reporting, data preparation, and other business-related support as needed.
