Who are we looking for?
We're looking for a proactive and process-oriented Safety Manager to join our team at Stargate Hydrogen. Do you thrive in dynamic environments and enjoy shaping smooth, effective safety processes? Must-have qualifications and experiences:
- Proven experience in a Safety Specialist or Manager role, preferably in a production or scale-up environment.
- A strong understanding of relevant legislation and safety standards, with the confidence to apply them effectively.
- Excellent organisational skills and a keen eye for detail
- Strong communication skills in English and Estonian; additional languages are a plus
- Hands-on experience in leading safety programs, including risk management and safety leadership initiatives
- A proactive mindset characterised by a can-do attitude and a drive for improvement.
Nice-to-have qualifications:
- Experience with safety program VITS.
- Familiarity with ISO 45001 and 14001.
- Experience with HAZOP studies or willingness to learn.
- Background in engineering or chemistry.
Role overview
At Stargate Hydrogen, you'll be part of a team pioneering innovative solutions in green hydrogen. As our Safety Manager, you will play a crucial role in fostering a proactive, learning-driven safety culture. You'll lead the development and implementation of safety practices that support our daily operations while championing continuous improvement and proactive risk management across all levels of the organisation.
What does the day-to-day look like in this role?
- Developing, implementing, and continuously improving safety procedures to support daily operations
- Fostering a proactive, learning-driven safety culture across all teams and levels
- Conducting and maintaining up-to-date risk assessments and safety work plans
- Advising team leads and employees on best practices, ensuring practical and sustainable safety solutions
- Leading the Safety Investigation Program: managing incident investigations, coaching investigators, facilitating learning teams, and ensuring thorough documentation and follow-up
- Leading safety training and fostering a strong safety culture throughout the organisation
- Staying up to date with relevant legislation and ensuring compliance within your area of responsibility
- Driving initiatives for continuous improvement and proactive risk management.
- Adapting to a dynamic, fast-paced environment where responsibilities may evolve as the company grows
