Role Description
TP-Exports (Baltics) is currently recruiting for a Commodity Buyer position to join our new team in Estonia. This is an excellent opportunity for someone to develop and work in a complex, market-sensitive function, where you will be dealing daily with stakeholders across the globe to support commodity trading activities.
The focus of the role is to identify and procure competitive commodities for our business divisions across Northern Europe.
You will be responsible for buying and managing commodities, including coal, peat, and cereals, from local suppliers and foreign markets, like South America.
Responsibilities
- Provide procurement management of select commodity lines;
- Work to bring online physical tonnage in commodity options across Europe and Asia;
- Work to procure commodities within set budgets and scheduling targets;
- The identification and onboarding of regional suppliers;
- Working closely with our sales capacity to identify growing demand and ensure volume is available to trade and deliver;
- Target Return on Investment (ROI);
- Commodity risk management;
- Undertaking market research to identify unrealised procurement capacity in new regions;
- Engage in active analytics to track market activities and geopolitical developments;
- Evaluate the challenges faced by the company and our supply chains and action to mitigate risks and develop opportunities;
- Supporting the Operations Function with internal developments and overhauls;
- Work with colleagues from across the globe.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience period;
- 4+ years of relevant experience in procurement and/or supply chains, supply management and trading;
- Ability to manage complex and developing commodity lines in highly technical fields;
- Strong project management, communication and stakeholder management skills;
- Excellent verbal and written communication;
- Experience in problem-solving and dispute resolution;
- Good negotiation skills;
- Ability to effectively network and self-start;
- Willingness to travel;
- MS Office proficiency essential;
- Excellent knowledge of English and Estonian. Knowledge of any other language will be considered an advantage of the candidate.
